Hi, I’m Monica. I’m a cookbook author, art director, content creator, and professional snack sharer (aka toddler mom). After graduating from Pratt Institute and working in the advertising industry in New York City, I discovered my passion for food photography and brand building. Over the years, my work has been featured on The Today Show, Forbes, Healthy-ish, and inVogue.
Born in Dallas to food-loving Taiwanese American parents, I developed a deep connection to food as a way to preserve my family’s heritage. I find immense joy in documenting family recipes for posterity and collecting vintage Chinese cookbooks that carry the stories of generations before me.
After a decade in the Bay Area, my life looks completely different from when I first moved here. Becoming a mom has made me feel like a tourist in my own city—experiencing San Francisco for the first time through my son’s eyes. From playground adventures to foggy walks along the Bay, I’ve fallen in love with this city all over again. Love Notes To is my digital keepsake—a way to collect these fleeting joys and celebrate this new season of life.
